A lot of insured motorists are under the wrong impression that there would be a grace period for the payment of auto insurance premiums. A lot of health and life insurance policies allow a 30-day grace period and the laws of the state sometimes require those grace periods but auto insurance in general does not work this way. But state insurance laws would give a number of days’ notice that you are eligible for before your policy gets cancelled.
That would be a bit of consolation when you are already on the verge of losing your car insurance.
